PERINTAH AKTA PENCEN UMUR TUA DAN ELAUN KURANG UPAYA (PINDAAN), 2021 DAN PERINTAH ORANG KURANG UPAYA 2021

TAKLIMAT PEMBERIGAAN PERINTAH AKTA PENCEN UMUR TUA DAN ELAUN KURANG UPAYA (PINDAAN), 2021 DAN PERINTAH ORANG KURANG UPAYA 2021 SECARA DALAM TALIAN

Hari Isnin, 30 Ogos 2021- Taklimat pemberigaan mengenai Perintah Akta Pencen Umur Tua dan Elaun Kurang Upaya (Pindaan), 2021 dan Perintah Orang Kurang Upaya, 2021 telah diteruskan hari ini kepada pertubuhan-pertubuhan dan badan-badan bukan kerajaan orang kelainan upaya secara dalam talian.

Seramai 90 orang peserta telah menghadiri taklimat berkenaan yang terdiri dari Yang Di-Pertua Majlis Kesejahteraan Orang Kelainan Upaya, Yang Mulia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Alimin bin Haji Abdul Wahab, serta Penaung-penaung dan Ahli-ahli Majlis Kesejahteraan Orang Kelainan Upaya (MKOKU), Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam; Society for the Management of Autism Related Issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER); Persatuan Paraplegic and Physically Disabled Association (PAPDA), Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Cacat (KACA); Brunei Darussalam National Association for the Blind (BDNAB); Special Olympics Brunei Darussalam (SOBD); Persatuan Orang Kurang Pendengaran (OKP); Persatuan Sindrom Down (ABLE) dan Learning Ladders Society (LLS). Turut hadir juga adalah wakil Persatuan An-Nur Harapan dan Persatuan La Vida.

Taklimat telah dipengerusikan oleh Dayang Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari, Setiausaha Tetap (Kemasyarakatan dan Kebudayaan), Kementerian Kebudayaan, Belia dan Sukan dan turut disertai oleh pegawai-pegawai dari Jabatan Pendidikan Khas, Kementerian Pendidikan dan Pusat-Pusat Bahagia di keempat-empat daerah.

Taklimat yang diteruskan dengan sesi soal jawab tersebut bertujuan untuk memberikan kefahaman secara lebih terperinci kepada warga-warga golongan kelainan upaya mengenai Perintah Akta Pencen Umur Tua dan Elaun Kurang Upaya, 2021 dan Perintah Orang Kurang Upaya, 2021, khususnya faedah-faedah seperti elaun dan undang-undang yang akan melindungi golongan ini dari penderaan dan pengabaian.

Kedua-dua perundangan ini dihasrat untuk sama-sama melengkapi dan mendukung pelbagai inisiatif kerajaan Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam kearah pembangunan masyarakat yang inklusif, serta menitikberatkan dan memberi keutamaan terhadap kebajikan dan kesejahteraan warga emas dan orang kelainan upaya di negara ini agar sentiasa dijaga, dipelihara dan diberi peluang saksama.

Dalam kata-kata penutupnya, Yang Mulia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Alimin bin Haji Abdul Wahab, selaku Yang Di-Pertua dan bagi pihak Majlis Kesejahteraan Orang Kelainan Upaya, menyatakan bahawa kedua undang-undang ini amatlah disambut baik dan berharap ianya akan dilaksanakan  dengan berjaya.

BRIEFING ON OLD AGE PENSIONS AND DISABILITY ALLOWANCE (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2021 AND PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES ORDER 2021

Monday, 30 August 2021- An online briefing on the Old Age Pensions and Disability Allowance (Amendment) Act, 2021 and the Persons with Disabilities Order, 2021 continued today with organizations and non-governmental organizations of persons with different abilities.

A total of 90 participants attended the online briefing which consisted of the President of the Welfare Council for People with Different Abilities (MKOKU), Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Alimin bin Haji Abdul Wahab, as well as the Patrons and Members of MKOKU, Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam; Society for the Management of Autism Related Issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER); Paraplegic and Physically Disabled Association (PAPDA), Association of Children with Disabilities (KACA); Brunei Darussalam National Association for the Blind (BDNAB); Special Olympics Brunei Darussalam (SOBD); Association of the Hearing Impaired (OKP); Down Syndrome Association (ABLE) and Learning Ladders Society (LLS). Also present were representatives from An Nur Harapan and La Vida associations.

The briefing was chaired by Dayang Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari, Permanent Secretary (Community and Culture), Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and was also attended by officials from the Department of Special Education, Ministry of Education and Pusat Bahagia from all the four districts.

The briefing was continued with a question and answer session, and was aimed at providing a more detailed understanding to persons of different abilities on the Old Age Pensions and Disability Allowance Act, 2021 and the Persons with Disabilities Order, 2021, in particular benefits such as allowances and laws that will provide protection from abuse and neglect.

These two legislations are intended to complement and support the various initiatives of the government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam towards the development of an inclusive society, as well as emphasizing and giving priority to the welfare and well-being of the elderly and people with different abilities in this country to always be cared for, preserved and given equal opportunities.

In his closing remarks, Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Alimin bin Haji Abdul Wahab, on behalf of the Welfare Council for People with Different Abilities (MKOKU), welcomed the new laws and looked forward to its successful implementation.
